Organic Control of Slugs and Snails
Know Your Enemy Commercial and DIY Control Summary

Summary

I hope this has proved useful and maybe highlighted some of the less well know methods of control. I tried shells this season and it was effective but a little messy by the end of the season with some broken fragments littering the bases of some of the pots, carried by retreating slugs.

Next season I'll try the copper rings. I've heard good things about these, they're simple, maintenance free and supposedly very effective. Commercial offerings are a little expensive though so I'll be looking to make my own from sheet copper. Hopefully I'll be able to include a photo-journal article covering this DIY project a little later.

If you have any favorite methods I'd be very interested in hearing about them and can include them in this guide. Drop me a mail at through the contacts page.

Happy hunting!
